5000 Pageview Special - Where Are They Now? Generation 2 Edition

After the last heir vote Hallie took on the responsibility of continuing the line and her sisters and brother were moved out and left to fend for themselves (with a little help from Twallan!).

As generation two now draws to a close and the final votes are cast I thought it would be fun to go back and tell you what happened to each of them, how their lives have played out - it's also a great way to celebrate 5000 views of the Monroe blog. To those of you responsible for each and every one of those views, thank you!

Enjoy!

---------------------------------------

Lola Dean (nee Monroe)

After her tumultuous college experience Lola and her then boyfriend Jeffery moved into her parents house from which they were married. A year later they welcomed their first daughter Coralie.

Moving out to a small starter home on the edge of Appaloosa Plains the Dean household had a tough time making ends meet at first. Lola's dream of becoming a paediatric surgeon was out on hold to raise her daughter whilst Jeffery started at the bottom in his chosen career of neurosurgeon. The pair took out a loan from the city when they discovered they were expecting again and days after Coralie's birthday Lola gave birth to a son who they named Zander.

Jeffery became a medical intern soon after Zander's birth and once Coralie was old enough to start nursery Lola was able to go back to work as a part time ambulance driver. Being a hard-working and bright young woman Lola was soon promoted but was forced to go on leave again when they conceived their youngest son Reginald (nice one nraas!).

This unexpected pregnancy caused strife between Jeffery and Lola, she had always been ambitious and he had always wanted a big family. With all the stresses of raising three small children they didn't have much time for one another.

Coralie started school as Reggie started play group and with two incomes coming in the Deans were finally able to upgrade their home, moving the boys out of their parents room and into a newly built nursery. With some time and space to themselves Lola and Jeffery were able to rekindle their romance, though not until Jeffery had a vasectomy, Lola wasn't taking any more chances.

As their children grew their parents moved up the ranks. Jeffery became a neurosurgeon just shy of his forty-fifth birthday and Lola's dream was in reach, despite the slow start. Coralie had grown into a strong-willed young woman, joining the army and dating a fellow recruit.

Reginald was a quiet kid with slightly gothic tendencies. He loved metal music and being misunderstood and gave his parents quite the run-around.

Zander was a troubled boy, he was very popular despite being mean-spirited and a loner and sent shock waves through the family when he got his teenage girlfriend, Lashanda, pregnant.

As Hallie and Cai settle down in Lucky Palms Jeffery is enjoying retirement and Lola is working towards that final, elusive promotion.

Coralie is engaged to her colleague Zane and the pair have just welcomed their little son Bryce into the world.

Zander is sporting a dreadful haircut and a worse attitude and is still living at home. He is in an on again off again relationship with Lashanda which hasn't stopped him from getting her pregnant again. Lola is desperate to see more of her granddaughter Raina who is now a toddler and this new baby but neither Lashanda or Zander seem ready to grow up.

Reginald has just rented his first apartment where he lives with his showgirl wife Taylor. The pair met in Vegas and married a week later. Lola tries to approve and Taylor seems a sweet girl but the whole situation happened so quickly that they're still in shock. Reggie wants to be in a band but for now is working with the police, Aunt Marisol pulled a few strings and got him a place in the force.

Belle Monroe

Belle has had a wild life, chasing her dream of being a famous singer with some success. She spent most of her twenties and thirties touring with a moderately successful band in Europe, but she never managed to crack the big time. Just before her thirtieth birthday she married her guitarist  in a Buddhist ceremony on holiday in Tibet. The marriage lasted slightly longer than the plane ride home and the two remain friends.

Less than a year later she re-married, this time her husband, William Pitt was twenty years her senior and the band's manager.

Despite this the pair seemed genuinely happy and welcomed a daughter, Marie Pitt the same year that Hallie's triplets were born. Marie is a flighty child, partially due to being dragged around the world in childhood, she didn't have a settled home until her teens when the family moved to the suburbs of Lucky Palms.

By this point Marie had a younger brother, Freddy and William was advancing in years. Belle retired from touring to care for her husband and children though she longed for her life of adventure.

William dies five years after they settled in Lucky Palms, suffering a heart attack during at Freddy's tenth birthday party. Belle was distraught and still hasn't really got over it. Hiring a nanny with his life insurance she disappeared for several months and returned with a much younger husband in tow. Eduardo never really interacted with the family, largely ignoring his teenaged step-kids and left the day his US citizenship was granted.

Belle seemed largely indifferent and tried to dedicate herself to her children, knowing that their lives had been made difficult by her decisions. It was because of this decision that Belle met husband number four, Moses Fox was Freddy's science tutor and the two fell quietly in love whilst they struggled to get her son's GPA up from the low 1.5s.

Marie now attends school with her cousins and gets on well with Saffron, she seems largely unaffected by her changeable childhood, she's just a little absent minded. Freddy is attending Moses' alma mater, Smuggsworth Prep school where his grades are improving rapidly. He recently came out to his mother and seems much happier in himself. Rumour has it that he even found himself a cute boyfriend.

Georgia Pinkerton (nee Monroe)

Georgia gave up on her dream of becoming a celebrity stylist quite quickly. She soon realised that she much preferred making herself look good to working with other peoples terrible style opinions. She married her high school sweetheart, Humberto Pinkerton and he was more than happy to use his banker's salary to cater to his pretty wife's every wish. The pair lived a charmed life of dinner parties and lounge bars until Georgia found herself unexpectedly pregnant.

The news was not altogether unwelcome, Humberto wanted a son to follow him in his family business and Georgia wanted a little girl to dress up. They both got their wish, Chester was followed only a year later by little Keely and Georgia dieted her way back into her pre-baby wardrobe.

With he help of a nanny things continued to go well for the Pinkertons, or so Georgia thought. While she was dabbling in motherhood, lunching with her girlfriends and letting Humberto do as he pleased, Humberto was doing a little more than his wife knew.

One day Gerogia's Prius broke down so she walked to Humberto's nearby office and surprised both him and his gold-digging secretary with her sudden entrance. There was no denying what they'd been doing and by the time Humberto had done up his trousers and found a ride home the locks had been changed.

The drawn out divorce battle was complicated by the complex pre-nuptial agreement and Humberto's flagrant infidelity with his conniving, social climber of a secretary. Humberto was ashamed and sorry while Georgia was ruthless because she'd been hurt. It also didn't help that every time Georgia and Humberto were left alone they'd have a furious fight which almost always ended up with them in bed together.

Georgia didn't know why but Humberto was just so much sexier when he was angry. They had almost settled when Georgia found she was pregnant. Humberto begged for another chance and for the sake if the new baby Georgia agreed. Myron Pinkerton was born seven months later and cemented a truce between his parents.

They lived together, had separate rooms but agreed that they would make their marriage work in their own way. Now Myron is a slightly snobby child and Humberto and Georgia ignore each other, fight and make up in turn. Humberto has never looked at another woman again.

Chester is dating the daughter of the local mob boss. Humberto does not approve.

Oscar Monroe

Oscar and his fiancé Marisol moved into a tiny house in Appaloosa after Marisol became pregnant. Little Christopher was the apple of his parents eye and Marisol stayed home with him until he started school.

Oscar served two tour in Afghanistan before leaving the army to be with his family. The horrors of what he had seen would never leave him and he vowed to shelter his son from the cruel world he knew was out there.

To this end he took night classes remedy his poor high-school grades and did eventually make it to college though he was now too old for collegiate sport. Instead he began working as a coach and amateur player and after a short stint in the minor leagues became head of recruiting for the nearby University.

Oscar was very close with his son, coaching his little league team and spending every spare moment with the boy and Christopher grew up happy and confident. Marisol and Oscar decided that they were happy with an only child, that way they could focus on their careers and Christopher had enough cousins that he'd never be short of a playmate.

Marisol joined the police force as she'd always wanted to and gradually worked her way through the ranks, soon becoming the county's first female Sheriff. When her estranged parents died she inherited their home and she, Oscar and Christopher moved in. Cousin Violet was a frequent visitor and she and Christopher spent long hours in the pool and telling each other spooky stories.

Oscar and family lead a quiet, comfortable life in Appaloosa, Oscar is widely expected to be called up as a major league coach this season after his excellent record of producing star players and Marisol is doing something highly confidential within the security services. Christopher has just graduated high school and is starting out as a journalist. He is dating Miss Utah and planning to move out if she accepts his upcoming proposal!

So that's a run-down of the lives of the other Monroes. I apologise for the uneven picture distribution - I went in game for the current portraits but the rest I tried to remember to take as I played and there were patches where I obviously forgot!

The stories are based on their actual development in game - I embellished a little to make it fun! Overall I reckon Marlie and Brody would be proud parents (here they are hanging in the nursery - they're the cutest ghost couple!)
